Ged McPartlin
Managing Director
Ged has an unrivalled knowledge of the property market, which has heavily contributed to the success of Ascend and their high-quality service. He previously specialised in large scale developments and building stronger contacts between bulk buyers and the property industry. He previously owned award winning letting agency Curtis & Bains which he sold to Countrywide. In 2014, Ged and David founded Ascend Properties. As well as experiencing phenomenal growth over the past 7 years, Ascend has a multitude of awards under its belt, including Best Letting Agent at the ESTAS for four consecutive years. Through collaboration with BtR funds and clients, Ascend has developed into a leading nationwide Build to Rent specialist property company, and has recently become the largest manager of Single-Family-Homes in the UK.

Adam Stephenson
Head of Build to Rent
Adam is a very experienced property professional with a demonstrated history of working in the real estate industry. A Member of the Association of Residential Letting Agents (MARLA), Adam has particular strengths in lettings, large landlord management and customer service. He also has strong experience in finance and accounting. Adam heads up the Build to Rent team and the day to day running of the head office. He ensures that portfolios are performing as expected for both clients and residents. Adam has been with Ascend since its formation and is a highly valued member of the team.

Matthew Herbert
Maintenance Controller BtR
Matt heads up maintenance for our Build-to-Rent team, working closely with our Asset Managers to ensure both reactive and planned maintenance are completed swiftly, to the required standard, whilst also ensuring value for the client.
Since studying Real Estate at Sheffield Hallam University, Matt has been in property management with Ascend for over 5 years, gaining valuable experience in the field.

Jack Wright
Marketing Manager
Jack has been with Ascend since 2018 and has since gone from being a one man band in the department, to being promoted and leading a team of marketers. After graduating university a few years ago, Jack went on to working in the industry straight away doing Marketing, Media and PR for a property management firm. At Ascend, he’s the expert when it comes to marketing communications to our landlords, residents, buyers and vendors, and works closely with our BtR clients to ensure all marketing efforts and customer journeys are successful and on-brand.

James Hardern
Team Leader BtR
James has been part of the Ascend family for several years. Specialising in property management, he leads the dedicated BtR team and ensures all residents are receiving the highest possible level of service. From overseeing maintenance requests to delivering customer satisfaction, James knows exactly how to run a happy team of Build to Rent Asset Managers and aims to guarantee that all residents are loving their home.

Oliver Sacks
External Team Leader
Oliver is our external team leader where he manages the external diary and team across our nationwide offices ensuring that all the correct checkouts, inventories and interim inspections have taken place and are all in check. He’s also in charge of dealing with tenancy handovers and any snagging issues with new developments, as well as training new members of the external team.

Chris Norman
Compliance Manager
Chris heads up our compliance and monitoring teams, boasting extensive experience in training from performing this role across a variety of sectors throughout the last 16 years. His team are key contributors to the continued betterment of the brand by setting the right foundations in terms of support to ensure service levels remain consistently high for all our residents. With a wealth of experience within regulated environments, his knowledge on compliance has become an invaluable asset in our pursuit to have a compliant, fair and resident focused business.
